We are seeking an experienced UT Technician – Supervisor to lead and coordinate ultrasonic testing operations, ensuring high quality non destructive inspections in compliance with industry standards and project requirements. The role involves supervising and mentoring a team of UT technicians, managing daily workflows, and maintaining testing equipment and documentation. The ideal candidate will apply strong technical expertise in ultrasonic testing methods and uphold safety, quality, and performance expectations across all assigned tasks.
As a UT Technician – Supervisor, you will oversee and lead all ultrasonic testing (UT) activities to ensure accurate and reliable non destructive inspections of materials, welds, and components in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. You will coordinate daily UT operations, manage workflows, assign inspection tasks, and ensure high quality inspection results while maintaining compliance with safety protocols, quality systems, and customer requirements. This role also involves supervising and mentoring UT technicians (Level I, Level II, and trainees), supporting equipment calibration and maintenance, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting of inspection activities.
• Supervise and coordinate daily UT inspection activities, ensuring tests are
completed accurately and in accordance with applicable standards
codes, and project specifications.
• Assign tasks and manage workloads for UT personnel (Level I, Level II, and
trainees), monitoring performance and mentoring technicians for
quality and efficiency.
• Ensure UT equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and available for
inspection tasks.
• Review and verify inspection results, maintain accurate documentation
and records, and prepare reports for internal teams and clients
• Promote safety, enforce quality systems, and ensure compliance with
customer requirements and company Procedures.
• Communicate regularly with management, stakeholders, and project
teams regarding inspection status, issues, and resource needs.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in same position.
• Hands on experience with UT inspections and proven ability to interpret
results and enforce quality standards.
• Commitment to safety, quality compliance, and customer requirements
during all inspection activities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills to
coordinate team workflow, documentation, and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical,
or related technical field.
• Experience with advanced UT techniques (e.g., immersion or phased array
ultrasonic testing).
• Familiarity with quality management systems like ISO standards or customer
audit processes.
• Experience in marine, manufacturing, or regulated inspection environments.
Ultrasonic testing (UT), UT equipment setup and calibration, ultrasonic weld inspection, flaw detection and data interpretation, inspection documentation and reporting, knowledge of NDT standards and codes (e.g., ASME/SNT/NAS 410), quality compliance and inspection procedures, supervising and mentoring UT technicians, use of inspection reporting software, safety and quality management systems
