• Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for marine parts, equipment,
and services to meet operational needs while negotiating competitive
pricing, delivery terms, and quality standards.
• Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders (POs) accurately, track order
status, follow up on deliveries, and resolve delays or discrepancies
to ensure goods arrive on time at required locations.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, monitor supplier
performance, and handle supplier communication to support long-term
partnerships and effective service.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as logistics, inventory, technical
operations, and finance to understand requirements, forecast needs,
and align purchasing with company objectives.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records (quotes,
contracts, invoices, delivery receipts), ensure compliance with company
policies and quality standards and support cost tracking and audits.
• Monitor stock and work with inventory/warehouse teams to maintain
optimal inventory levels, prevent stockouts, and control procurement
costs.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration,
Logistics, or a related field — provides essential knowledge of
procurement and business operations.
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles,
ideally with exposure to vendor interaction and order processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data tracking,
reporting, and analysis).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers
and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of procurement principles, purchase orders, and
supplier management to support effective purchasing activities.
• Experience with procurement/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba) to
manage purchasing workflows efficiently.
• Prior experience in marine, logistics, shipping, or technical equipment
procurement — which aligns well with Qualships’ industry focus and
enhances understanding of specialized supplier markets.
• Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills to support cost analysis,
vendor evaluation, and reporting.
